Mr. Sam Gambrah has over 40 years oil Industry experience, including over 33 years with the Chevron Oil Corporation. Within Chevron Corporation, Sam had 17 years of experience in the US Refining downstream. He was the Refinery Manager for the Chevron El Segundo Refinery in Los Angeles, Ca. The refinery processes 500,000 barrels of crude oil per calendar day and manufactures variety of complex deep refined products.
He also spent 16 years in Upstream oil and gas operations in Nigeria. He was responsible for developing the successful Chevron Escravos Oil and Gas Processing Complex in the Niger Delta, Nigeria, plus the Chevron Training College in West Africa which has become Chevron’s template for integration and successful operation and personnel development for Chevron’s global workforce of 55,000 employees worldwide including USA.
Sam was the General Manger of Operations responsible for the production of 600,000 barrels per day of export quality crude oil and the processing 1 billion scf per day of raw gas and export liquid gas products such as LPG, GTL liquids and gas condensate. His expertise lies in conceptualizing and implementing projects in the local and international arena that involve complex transactions with multinational companies. He has held several positions of increasing responsibilities and managed several multimillion dollar projects in his capacity as Director for Chevron Nigeria Ltd (CNL). His technical knowledge includes project management, facility maintenance, operations and personnel development.
Now retired from Chevron-Sam today is Chairman of Gamma Group of Dubai, Gamank Investment Limited of Ghana–a medium sized oil and refined products trading group in Ghana and Ultimate Beige Logistics Limited of Ghana that manages Marine vessels and Husbandry agency and crew manning for oil and gas exploratory vessels including FPSOs in the West Africa region.
Sam has a Masters’ degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA and holds dual citizenship in the United States and Ghana. He is married with three children.
